On Good Friday of this year, Ruth Daisy Brashier was called home to be with the Lord. Ruth (Or Nan, as she was affectionately referred to by her immediate family) spent her final days with her family by her side resting comfortably at Grace Care Center in Katy Texas.
Ruth, born on November 26th 1921 lived a full and vibrant life making sure that all who were in her presence knew her genuineness and love. She was compassionate and loving to all who knew her and was always willing to listen. Just being with her made you feel good. No matter the argument, you were right and the others were wrong. Most of Ruth’s extended family lives in the Texas Hill Country and though traveling in her later years was difficult she often spoke fondly of her time there.
She is pre deceased by her parents, Walter and Erna Durst and sister Deedie Mae as well as her loving husband James “Bill” Brashier. She is survived by her Son Jeff Brashier, Grandchildren Jeffery Brashier, Adam Brashier and his wife Cari, Brandy Lawson and her husband Del. Great Grandchildren Jeffery Brashier III, Ashley Brashier, Addison Brashier, Preston Lawson, Lindsey Brashier and Joshua Lawson. She is also survived by her siblings Walter “Sonny” Durst, Evelyn Thompson, Virginia Evans, Helen Thompson and Bertie Danheim.
Services in celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at St. Paul Episcopal Church, 1936 Drexel Drive, Katy, Texas 77493, (281) 391-2785.
