Rudy Sutherland, Jr. was born to Rudy Sutherland, Sr. and Celestine Freeman on March 17, 1966 in Chicago, IL. He was the middle child of 3 children born to this union. He transitioned to his heavenly home on June 8, 2020.
Rudy attended Henderson Elementary School in Chicago, IL. He later attended Chicago Vocational High School for one year. Rudy then moved to Houston, Texas and attended Bellaire Academy (Class of 1984). Upon graduation from Bellaire Academy, he attended National Education Center graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Electronics. Rudy attended St. Thomas University receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Finance (Class of 1997). He continued his higher education at Open University Business School (UK) where he earned a Certificate of Management (200).
Rudy was a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army with the position of Logistics Officer beginning in 1992. He was also an active member of the United States Army during the Gulf War. Rudy was honorably discharged from the United State Army in April of 2002.
While continuing his service in the army, Rudy began his professional career serving in numerous capacities. Rudy served as a Managing Principal for Boston Warwick based out of London, UK (1995-2020). In March of 2007, he became Founder & Editor of Voice of Small Business in America. He also served as Founder & Editor of the Veteran Owned Business Discussion Group (Jun 2009-2020), Micro Business in America Incubator Group (2011-2020), General Contractor’s Group International (2012-2020), and the Certified Business Development Consultant Group (2012-2020). Rudy's most recent venture was the CMS Work Source Solutions, Incorporated where he served as the Executive Director (2018-2020).
He was preceded in death by his parents Rudy Sutherland, Sr. and Celestine Freeman. Rudy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 18 years Pamela Sutherland, and sons Rudy Alexander Sutherland, III, Justin Avery Sutherland, Carter Joshua Sutherland, and Christian Malachi Sutherland; Sisters, Malisa Phagan of Stafford, Texas and Trinette Hentz(Elton) of Park Forest, IL; Brothers, Carl Haymon, Noah Rouse, Kevin Love, Baron Howell of Chicago, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives, and close friends.
