Rudolph Gutierrez Jr.

Rudolph (Rudy) Gutierrez, Jr. moved on to be with the love of his life on December 15, 2019 at the age of 72. Rudy was born on June 5, 1947 in Houston, TX to his parents Rudolph and Charlotte Gutierrez. Rudy worked as a Civil Engineer for over 45 years, retiring in 2015. Rudy was an avid photographer, teaching his sons how to develop film, gardener, and was one of those Dads who made it to every game and school function, no matter what. Rudy attended school in the Heights area, going to Stevenson Elementary, Washington Middle School, and Reagan High, and went on to study engineering at U of H. Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Roy and Ronnie, and his wife of 41 years Jo Ann (Jodi). He is survived by his brothers and sisters Richard, Ray, Dolores and Liz, his sons John and Steve, his step-children Mike, Liz, Candi and Linda, his grand-children Stephanie, Caden, Cordelia, Madelaine, Jenny, Amanda, Nikki, Mike, and Kathy, and many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Rudy resided in Huffman, TX with his son Steve and family for the last several years of his life, even beating diabetes during that time.

The family will receive family and friends for visitation Friday, December 20, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and a service celebrating his life from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
