Rubie grew up in Denver Harbor and graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1953 and attended Faith Memorial Baptist Church. She currently attended Crossroads Fellowship Church where she was active in “Women of Worth”, “OASIS” and “Widow’s Bite” and attended many women’s conferences. She loved her church and was always there for others and willing to help in any way she could.
Early on she worked many years for Humble Oil, but retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where she enjoyed many friendships and happy times.
She loved camping, traveling, flea markets, shopping (did I say shopping?), entertaining, cooking, football, parties, her many vacations to Leakey, TX and taking pictures, but most of all she loved her family, church and her Lord. She lived life to the fullest, packed full of excitement, activities and projects.
She loved and appreciated all of her doctors, nurses, friends and caregivers that helped her throughout her sickness and referred to them as her “Angels”. We would like to thank everyone for blessing us with your love, support and prayers during the last few years!
