Ruben Zepeda Sr. Age 70 passed away on Friday February 1, 2019 in Houston, Texas. He was born on May 7, 1948 in Mercedes Texas. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Mirna Zepeda and son Ruben Zepeda Jr. Stepson Rolando Paguada and Stepdaughter Karla Yisel Paguada. brothers Alfredo, Rodolfo and Roberto. His daughters from a previous marriage Rachel & Anna. Grandchildren Jessica, Jasmine and Matthew Simmons, and many relatives and friends who loved him. Ruben served in his country well in the Vietnam War, he was a member of the 1st cavalry 23rd infantry Americal division in the U.S. Army, where he earned multiple awards for his service such as a National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars, Air Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart with one oak leaf cluster. for his dedicated and heroic work. When Ruben returned from the war he began a career as a Machinist working for various companies to include Hughes Helicopters. In his earlier years he used to play in a Bowling league and was an avid runner and marathoner participating in various races throughout the Houston area.
Ruben enjoyed Fishing, traveling and going to the casinos and just spending time with his beloved family. He was a dedicated husband and father and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed by all of his family and friends those who had the opportunity to meet him.
