The family of Roy Valdez "Big Roy" are deeply saddened to announce his passing on Thursday, April 28. Words really can't explain what a one-of-a-kind, genuine, blunt, and humorous person that Roy was. Big Roy, as he was known to his friends, family, and coworkers had a larger-than-life personality. He was always up for a laugh, working on his house, playing with his granddaughters, and encouraging others. He loved his family, friends, a clean truck, and a trip through McDonalds drive through for his morning coffee.
Roy was born in Houston, TX in 1936 and raised in Houston, TX. As a young man, Rig Roy moved to New York and made many memories that he cherished and always spoke about the good times that he had and the great memories. In his later years he became a leader of young men not only in his professional career but his personal endeavors. There were many men that he influenced and guided as someone to look up to. He was loved by all that he touched and was always there to make you smile!
Roy is survived by his children: By his son Billy and Daughter in-law Elizabeth and his youngest son Roy Jr., many nieces and nephews, and sisters Irene and Minnie, and brothers Henry, Phillip, and Shorty. Roy was a loving and involved father, and a key figure on the sidelines of his grandchildren. He was supportive and proud of the life his son created. He was so proud of his granddaughters and they loved him back for that!
