Roy Vernon Lemons

Roy Vernon Lemons, born July 5, 1928 to William and Ida Lemons in Shongaloo, Louisiana, passed away February 3, 2012 in Humble, Texas. Mr. Lemons was preceded in death by his parents, several siblings, and sons, Jerry Lemons, Richard Lemons, and Micheal Lemons. He is survived by sons, Vernon Lee Lemons, Roy David Lemons and wife, Darla, and Harvey Edwin Lemons; grandchildren, James McCullough, Janet Christine Lemons Bettcher and husband, Alan Joseph, Jennifer Kay Lemons-Walker and husband, Matthew, Adam Lee Lemons, Kimberly Denise Lemons-Sanchez and husband, Rufino, and Kathryn Brooke Lemons; great-grandchildren, Luke Sanchez, Easton Bettcher, Radyn Sanchez, Delilah Lemons, and Teagan Bettcher; brothers, Huey Lemons and wife, Lyn, and Dallas Prothro and wife, Denise, and by numerous other family and friends.

Mr. Lemons retired from the United States Air Force in 1966, and in later years from First City Bank.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 at Heights Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2012 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. The committal service will be 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in Houston National Cemetery.
