Roy Lee Kirk, Jr., age 81, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, October 15, 2022, with several of his family members by his side. Roy was born April 25, 1941, to Roy Lee Kirk, Sr. and Maureen Powell Kirk. He was a graduate of W.W. Samuell High School and attended Henderson Jr. College. He then joined the Air Force and proudly served our country.
Roy was a very successful entrepreneur. Roy started his professional career at Olympia and worked there as a Salesman and Regional Manager. After leaving Olympia, Roy started Sealy Office Products (S.O.P), an office equipment sales and service business in Sealy, Texas, specializing in Olympia office equipment and eventually Sharp office equipment. At that time, he moved his family out to the Millheim community, living there for 20 years. As the business grew, he then moved it to Houston, creating one of the largest Sharp dealerships in the country. Roy was a Director of Citizens State Bank board and a longtime member of the Stephen F. Austin Golf Association. Roy and wife, Donna, moved to Weston Lakes in 1997 and joined the Weston Lakes Country Club, meeting many wonderful new friends in the community. Roy was known for his great sense of humor and storytelling and would often tell jokes out of the blue in conversations just to see his loved ones laugh. Additionally, Roy loved to play golf and made many lifelong friends through the sport. Roy loved making playful bets that would almost always end up in his favor, much to the chagrin of his golf friends. But above all else, Roy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Kirk, Sr., his mother, Maureen Knapp, his stepfather Jack Knapp, his brother, Ron Kirk, and brother-in-law Dennis Wilkerson and sister-in-law Barbara Kirk.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Kirk and their son, Greg and wife, Mary, daughter Donna Murray and husband, Kenny; son Adrian Riggs and wife, Holly; brother, Doug Kirk; sister-in-law, Denise Wilkerson and grandchildren: Hannah and Logan Kirk; Ethan and Blake Crocker, Autumn Madrid, Stacy Ostafin, Josh Murray, Treanna McKeller and 9 great grandchildren, and many, many dear friends from Sealy, Bellville and Weston Lakes.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Roy touched are invited to his Celebration of Life at Fancies at the WolfPack in Sealy, Texas from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, to reminisce and celebrate a life well lived.
