Rosie Alice Tomascik King, 96, devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on February 10, 2019 in Houston, Texas. She was born August 14, 1922 in Buckholts, Texas to John Henry and Tresa Repa Tomascik, the youngest of nine siblings. She met her husband of 63 years, the love of her life, William Wesley King at Kelly Field in San Antonio, Texas. Rose and Wes were married on June 29, 1943 at the Methodist Church in New Braunsfels, Texas. Wes returned to Rose in San Antonio from World War II service in the Army Air Corps in 1945. They lived in eight towns in Texas before setting in Houston in the early 1950s to raise their family and run their heavy equipment business. She loved to garden, raise cattle, travel, but most important to her was her family and her Christian faith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wes, daughter Charlotte, her parents, and siblings John, Mylus, Ann, Tillie, Lydia, Francis, Tricie, and Frank. Rose is survived by her loving daughters, Patricia King Lockin and her husband Doug, Anitra King Wood and her husband Paul, granddaughters Wynetka Rowan, Celeste Lockin Chumlea and her husband Grant, Julia Lockin, Mercedes Wood, and Tressa Wood, and great grandchildren Brooklyn Nowak and Weston Chumlea as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be laid to rest at the ranch she loved so much on Saturday February 23, 2019. Graveside Service to begin at 3:00 pm 4588 State Hwy 304 Rosanky, TX 78953 second gate north entrance. Reception to follow at the Main House.
