Rosie Alonzo, age 85, passed away Sunday, October 28th, 2012. Preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Alonzo. She is survived by her children; Rose Mary, Patricia, Rick and his wife Sylvia, Carol, Marie, Jorge and his wife Michelle. She cherished her 8 grandchildren; Annette, Andrew and his wife Nadia, Justin, Matthew, Collin, Aleesia, Luis, Danielle and great-grandchildren; Madelyn, Benjamin, and Valerie.
Our loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother was a founding parishioner of St. Phillip of Jesus Catholic Church. She had a strong faith and took great comfort in her novenas. She was also a member of the Young Senior Citizens group and The Old Timers group in the East End.
She enjoyed music, dancing, and gambling. She was an avid Houston Rockets and Texans fan. She was the life of the party and enjoyed nothing more than laughing and joking with friends and family.
According to her great granddaughter, Madelyn, she was a rainbow in her heart that lit up her day. From her youngest granddaughter; Danielle, she will always be in her heart and will love her forever.
A kind, generous, thoughtful, funny, loving, respectful, happy, amazing, happy-go-lucky mom, mother-in-law, and grandma will be greatly missed by everyone.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 30th, 2012 from 6pm until 8pm with a rosary at 7pm in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 31st, 2012 at 11am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church 3600 Brinkman St. Houston, TX 77018. Rite of committal will be at 12:30pm at Forest Park Lawndale 6900 Lawndale St. Houston, TX 77023.
