December 23, 1935, a spirited little girl was born to Inez and Paul Johnson in Welsh, Louisiana. They named her Cloreta Rose Johnson. Rose gave her life to the Lord at an early age and was an active member of several churches. She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church for many years under the leadership of Reverend T. E. Spiller. In early 2000, she moved her membership to Salem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Nicholson. She was an active member serving on the usher board and working with the children and youth ministries. Rose’s career included domestic engineering, PBX operations at St. Elizabeth Hospital and the Medical Center Marriott Hotel. She was most passionate about her position as a film librarian at The Methodist Hospital Medical Center’s radiology department. During her 30 years of service, she had the opportunity to work with many renowned physicians. Rose received numerous awards during her employment with The Methodist Hospital. Once Rose retired from The Methodist Hospital, she continued to serve in the medical profession. Rose enrolled in a certified nurse assistant class and received her CNA certificate. She accepted a position caring for the elderly of the Forum. She warmed the hearts of many patients but had a very special attachment to one patient, Florence. She became her private duty nurse and traveling companion until Florence’s demise. Rose earned her wings October 26, 2017 to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness. She was fortunate to be surrounded by family. She was preceded in depth by her parents, daughter; Jeanette Harmon, twin sisters; C. "Ida" Smith, Lorena Martin, Willie Johnson Sr., precious brother Leroy Johnson, Ethel Cole, and Annie Johnson. To cherish her memory, Rose leaves one daughter, Cynthia Woods (Kinder, Louisiana), two sons; Reverend Kenneth Wayne Johnson (Robin) of Garland, Texas, Tony & Josey Craven (Lake Charles, Louisiana), one sister, Mary L. Simmons (Kinder, Louisiana), and eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews, and career friends.
