Rosalie passed from this life at age 96 on July 26, 2021 and is now reunited in Christ, with family and friends. She was born in Houston, Texas to Jack and Lottie Rumfola. She graduated St. Agnes Academy in 1942. Rosie worked at Hughes Tool and Delman Theater before marrying Jody Pizzitola. Jody lost his life while serving in the U.S. Army in France during WWII. In June, 1949, Rosalie married the love of her life, Baldwin “Baldie” Pizzitola. They were married 35 years before his passing in 1981.
Rosalie was one-of-a kind and a force-of-nature. She was the life of the party and will be missed by all who knew her. Her energy was contagious, whether fishing, crabbing, collecting shells by the bay or whipping up favorite foods or tending garden and sewing. She loved shopping, playing cards with friends and watching the “Wheel” 6:30 every evening. Her motto was “I get up every day because I don’t want to miss anything!”
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Jody Pizzitola and Baldie Pizzitola, parents, Jack and Lottie Rumfola and her brother, Tony Rumfola. She is survived by daughters, Paula Pizzitola and Lanette Pizzitola, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Rosalie was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and Gold Star Family. A special thank you to her kind caregivers at home over the years and for all those at Houston Hospice who gave her special care during her illness.
