Rosa Arevalo Higareda

Rosa Maria Higareda, 72, of Houston, TX, passed away July 2, 2024. She was born in Nuevo Laredo, MX on November 13, 1951, to the proud parents of Felipe (+) and Isabel (+) Arévalo. Rosa was the youngest of the Arévalo family who are Gregoria (+), Otilia, Santiago, Olga, Maria de la Paz (+), Juan, Francisca, Leonor, Laura (+), and Maria.

While working as a nurse she met the love of her life Juan Manual Higareda and after a year of courtship they married November 22, 1970, at Santo Niño Catholic Church and had four children Juan Manual (+), Juan Gabriel, Enrique Alejandro, and Rosa Isabel Guadalupe. Rosa and Juan would later move to Houston, TX seeking better opportunities.

As a devout Catholic she created a prayer group among her family and friends to uplift and unify with the word of God. Her prayer list was unwavering. She had a passion for supporting her children and grandchild, William, in all their extracurricular activities, especially baseball. She is survived by her husband Juan Manual, son Juan Gabriel, daughter Rosa Isabel Guadalupe, son Enrique Alejandro, his wife Sophia, grandson William Travis, her siblings Otilia, Santiago, Olga, Juan, Francisca, Leonor, Maria, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Rosa will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Cr, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, TX 77095. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 11, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 19222 TX-249, Houston, TX 77070. A committal service will occur Wednesday, July 11, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Klein Memorial Park Cemetery, 32509 TX-249, Pinehurst, TX 77362.
