Ron was born January 27, 1944 in Suffolk County Boston, Massachusetts to parents Mildred Esther Grant and Harry David Hansen.
Preceding Ronald in death were his mother, Mildred Newcomb, his father Harry Hansen, his brother David Harry Hansen, and his beloved step-father Richard Newcomb.
Ronald was father to Jeffrey, Alun,Todd and Kristina Hansen, and Ronald Christian Duggan. He was Grandfather to Kristen, Jordan, and our "miracle twins" Will & Sophie Hansen,
Step-Grandfather to Zoe & Isabella Maya, Brooklyn and Caitlyn Schmidt, Sky, Cristevon, and Zion Schmidt, and Cheyenne Herrera.
He served faithfully and with good standing in the Naval Reserves for 5 1/2 years per the letter I received from the Veteran's Administration.
Ronald was a very skilled man, carrying licenses in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Welding, having been a welding instructor at the shipyards in Boston. He was a Mr. fix-it to Zoe and Isabella who frequently brought him items to repair.
He was employed at AstroWorld in Houston Texas, retiring there after 25 years of service. He then went to work for George W. Bush Intercontinental Airport for 17 years. Upon retirement he received a "proclamation certificate" from Mayor Sylvester Turner for a "superior standard of public service", noting his "expertise and valuable skills through many years of experience"
He leaves behind his wife of nearly 27 years, Paula Hansen. As well as his children, step-children and grandchildren. All of whom he was very proud.
Jeff with his love of music, Alun with his education and career, Todd with his love of motorcycles and travel. Kristina who came to help care for him at the end when she was able, Ronnie who looks so much like him and visited before his passing.
And his step-children, , Paul Jr.whom we traveled to Missouri twice to see him and his family enjoying our visits, Rick and his wife Hope who have been so supportive during Ron's illness and after,
Anthony whom he taught about working on cars and gave tips on A/C care. Whom he and his wife Alicia helped us with repairs at the house for which we are very thankful, Matthew whom he road tripped with to California and who shared his love of music and Pad Thai. Stepdaughter Pamela whom he taught to drive, how to fix things around the house, and tips on how to work on cars.
Kristin who was his very first grandchild, Jordan whom he only met a few years back, but beamed when he saw her in a photo
wearing his motorcycle jacket. And our "miracle twins" Will and Sophie, whom he loved to read stories to when he visited. As well as his step grandchildren, who called him "Paw Paw" - Zoe Maya and Isabella Maya (whom he nicknamed "Izzy"). He raised these girls as his very own and is much loved and admired by them.
We all love and miss Ron, but are most thankful for the time we had together. I know we will see him again in heaven, as he gave his life to Jesus Christ, accepting him as saviour several years before he passed.
Many thanks to those who have reached out to us after his passing, his children, his cousin Laurel, his good friends - Reed and Beth Mendenhall, B. J. Bearse, Toby and Todd Unrath, Sandra and John Brite, Sharon Estrada, Tanisha Smith, and others too numerous to name.
