Lavonia,
Roger was such a wonderful example of a caring, compassion Christian man that every who came in contact him knew how much he loved the Lord.  Eric and I are grateful for the time we spent in the Abundant Life Group with the two of you. What a beautiful marriage the two of you had! You and your family are in our prayers.

I am so thankful for Roger's love for God and the witness he has been to others.  He was an encourager and friend to all.  We will miss him.  Love to you Lavonia, and your wonderful family.  You are in our prayers.

Love and prayers... Wonderful memories... He was such a lovely person.. Servant of the Lord ...and we are so thankful to have gotten to visit with you two the last fifty plus years at family reunions and other family times.

Thank you Mrs. Duck for allowing us to be a part of your life.  To know Mr. Duck was to love him.  I will never forget our "duet" of The Old Rugged Cross.  I am reminded of hymn that was often sang in my childhood church. "May the works I've done speak for me". I believe this to be a certain in Mr. Duck's life.  Thank you again and we love you dearly.

Betty and I will be eternally grateful to Roger.  God used him in a miraculous way in our lives.  Know of our prayer.

Mr Duck you saw me grow up at Tallowood. You all ways had kind words and encouragement. You also helped me to figure some things out. When I came and went to Tallowood you were there with good words. When my father passed you were there. Thank you for a life well lived

Un momento es poco tiempo para recordar a este  hombre. Una gran parte de lo que me une con Texas, de lo que me une con Tallowood se lo debo a este Varón. Viví con El , en su Casa, me senté en su mesa, cenamos juntos. Leímos la Biblia en Ingles y en Español juntos varias veces, oramos juntos en ambos idiomas. La primera Mesa con sillas en el desayunador de nuestra casa lo trajo el, el piano para Maite. Estuve con el, junto a su cama en el Memorial Hospital.  Se que el me amo a mi y a mi familia. Y 
Yo lo ame, fue como mi Padre en Houston, mi mentor, mi amigo. Lloro conmigo cuando salí de Tallowood. Maite y mis hijos Dalila e Isaac lo amaron como un abuelo. El amo  a la Gran Familia de Tallowood, el amo a los Pastores, el amo a los latinos , el amo a las Misiones.
Hoy esta en las Mansiones eternas...   Ven buen Siervo y fiel, entra en el gozo de tu Señor...

Me and Maria, my wife, met Roger and Lavonia while attending the Hispanic Mission of Tallowood, I still smile when remembering him telling us: "My last name is "pato"., he made everyone feel welcome around him.
His life is an example of service, we will miss him.  "His Lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord" Matthew 25:21

Deborah and I were saddened to read about Roger's passing.  The two of you were wonderful friends, counselors and Christian examples to us during our years at Tallowood.  Although he is lost to us on earth, we take comfort in knowing we will all be reunited one day in God's presence. Blessings to you and your family.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Roger Duck. Mom and dad (George & Virginia May) send their condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.  Our families have been long time friends for many years starting on the Island of San Andres, Colombia.  Roger will be surely missed, but we take comfort in knowing that he is resting in the arms of our Lord.  We will continue to keep you and your family in our prayers.  The scripture says, that weeping may endure for a while, but joy comes in the morning.  That joy is knowing that Roger is with the Lord.

While I only new Roger for a short period of time at Tallowood through Men's Life, I can honestly say that he was truly a man after God's own heart.  Roger was so gracious, a man who loved the Lord and always greeted all with a pleasant hello.  His absence though will be felt, his presence with the Lord is where I take great comfort.  He is now sitting in the balcony of heaven just as he did at the 8:45 Sunday service.

Ewell and I lived in Houston for eight years and were a part of the Abundant Life Sunday School Class.  After we retired and left Houston Roger and Lavonia were so good to stay in touch with us.  We took several trips together and have such wonderful memories of our time with both of them.   We are so sorry those times have past, but we can look forward to our heavenly reunion. Having known Roger and Lavonia my entire life we are deeply saddened today. Lavonia, you and Roger have been our friends in every situation of our life, our mentors in the ministry, our partners in the Missions Foundation and always a friend indeed. We will always be grateful for the support we have benefited from.

Roger is a man without guile.  He would humbly and gladly share without hypocrisy. I first noticed this when he bought me lunch and we had a talk. 
He cared so much for others, and clearly his family.  Honest and plain with Christ, he demonstrated true Love for his wife.  Special prayers for Lavonia.

Roger and I worked together for many years in the Abundant Life Sunday School Department at Tallowood, and Susan and Lavonia were Ladies' Class Teachers in Abundant Life.  I've never known a more dedicated, kind man. And now he is experiencing the Abundant Life.  We'll meet up with you later, roger.

I don't even know where to begin.....Yes he was my cousin, but I only called him Uncle.  He officiated at my wedding, and him and Lavonia have been a constant presence in my life always lending an ear or shoulder as the case may be.....I will fondly remember that last visit with both my mom and Roger.  Who could forget mom getting lost in the mall or having to have stiches while trying to put her toe in the water at the beach......
You will be sorely missed..... ........
