Roger was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 6, 1943. After his father returned from World War II, his family moved to San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1961 where he met his lifelong sweetheart Judy Shepherd. They were married on June 14, 1963 in San Antonio. He loved her dearly and always referred to her as his lovely bride.
Roger’s professional career spanned over 43 years in the Chemicals and Petroleum industry. He started out with Monsanto at Chocolate Bayou in 1976. Over the years he developed a deep expertise in the industry that led him to many places around the world as a Commissioning Manager for various companies including M.W. Kellogg, ABB, CB&I and others. Roger enjoyed seeing the world and where his career took him including Brazil, China, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and many places in the United States. Roger retired several times, but always found his way back into consulting work where he took great pride in performing his job. His work ethic was like no other. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and creating beautiful fish tanks at home and he could spend hours watching them swim. He was a man of few words but with great humor. He filled his life with his love for God, his family and friends. He demonstrated his love in acts of service and his thoughtfulness will forever be missed. The deep love he held for Judy and his girls will be held in their hearts forever.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Judy Clark. Daughter, M’Lissa Dilley and husband Craig of Houston, Texas and their children; Adam, Max & Reagan. Daughter, Lindsey Clark of San Antonio, Texas and her children; Stella, James & River. Brother, George Clark (Nancy) of Panama City Beach, Florida and sister, Amber Ford (Jay) of Templeton, California. Nephew Nick Clark (Jess) of Panama City Beach, Florida and niece Jessica Clark of Austin, Texas. Roger is preceded in death by his father, George Clark and mother, Virginia Pearl Clark.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m., December 11, 2018 at Pat H. Foley at 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, Texas 77018. A reception honoring Roger will follow at the home of Craig & M’Lissa Dilley.
