Rodney Kent Watson, age 63, passed away May 31, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Rodney was born on December 10, 1949 in Duncan, Oklahoma to loving parents Walton Marion and Neta Jean Watson. He spent most of his early life in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he attended school at Memorial High and later Oklahoma University. Shortly after college he joined the United States Navy. For the next 35 years, Kent worked at Occidental Oil & Gas Corporation retiring as Category Manager (OCTG), Supply Chain Management. He was a dedicated member of Second Baptist Church in, Katy, Texas. He enjoyed OU football, spending time with his family and grandson, listening to his favorite music, the Gaithers, and reading the Bible. Kent is survived by his wife, Jan Watson of Houston, Texas; Parents Walton Marion and Neta Jean Watson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Daughter Jill Thompson and husband Shawn Thompson of Katy, Texas; Grandson Drake Thompson of Katy, Texas; Son Rodney Kent Beard; Brother Weldon and his wife Cheryle Watson of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
