On December 16, 1930, a precious baby boy, the third of ten children, was born to Mansfield and Leola Davis in Bradly County Banks, Arkansas. The blessing of this birth was extra special, as it was shared with his twin brother Adele. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at First Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Kirby W. Jones. He was a product of the Banks ISD school system. Growing up Rodell enjoyed football and singing! He sang tenor in a religious quartet.
Rodell joined his mother and siblings settling in Houston in 1950. He found joy in driving, fast driving that he made a career of it. Rodell drove for Fleming Trucking and retired after 45 years. He enjoyed his many years of retirement until his health began to fail.
Rodell is preceded in death by his parents Mansfield and Leola Davis, his wife Berniece, son Kerry, daughter Kimmie, grandson Dominic, three sisters, and one brother.
He leaves to cherish his memories three brothers; Robert (Dorothy), Willie Ray (Eddie), & Jessie Ray (Bobbie) two sisters; Gertie Mae and Eartha Lee. Six sons; Van (Sue), Achester (Gail), Anthony (Latisha), Kenny (Latoya), Marcus, and Andrew (Tyrea). Five daughters; Linda (Pat), Gwen (Billy), Rita, Alda, and Sheila. As well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
