Robert Lee Young (aka “Thunderball”), 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Spring, Texas on October 28, 2020. Robert was born in Rockport, IN, and served 4 years with the US Army during the Vietnam war. After returning home, he worked in Evansville, IN, for a short time until he moved to Texas in the 1970s where he found work in the oil industry. He traveled the world before he settled down to support his family and came to realize there was no place better than Texas! An avid sportsman, he enjoyed all types of outdoor activities with family and friends.
In the later part of his life, he spent his time teaching the next generation about his love for the outdoors and with his friends, those Misfits of Magnolia, competing in events and doing what brought much joy to his life.
He is survived by Janet, his wife of 49+ years, son Richard and wife Petra; Daughter Tara and Ken Hale; grandchildren Ashley, Ian, and Connor; great-grandchildren Remington and Haisley as well as numerous cousins and other family members.
