Robert faithfully attended Midway Baptist Church of Shiro, Texas for the majority of his childhood and adolescence.
On June 19, 1955 he married Doris Stribling and has been united with her for 69 years (to that union four children were born).
Robert was drafted into the Army in 1955 which enabled him to support his family. He diligently served in the United States Army for 2 years and received an Honorary Discharge in 1957.
Robert worked in construction for years and was later employed by a local machine shop where he worked for several years. Robert then attended welding school and received his Certification as a Welder. He was employed by Nu Way Steel where he worked for many years until he became self employed fabricating stairs, burglar bars and other ironworks. Robert retired at the age of 67, but remained zealous about his love for welding. He enjoyed making BBQ pits, installing remote control gates and fencing. He
later joined the Greater Truevine Missionary Baptist under the leadership of Pastor Otis Mitchell, where he served as Deacon and later under the leadership of Pastor Aaron Stewart and now Pastor Randy Carroway.
Robert is preceded in death by both his parents, his sisters, Viola Gary, Katy Crooks, Lula Anderson, Celestine Washington, and Augustine Elliott.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Doris. Two daughters, Kimberley Prince and Keely Bryant-Ware (Dennis). Two sons, Robert Winston (Joyce) and Ramon Winston (Aundria). Eight grandchildren: Markeise and Marcus Winston, Thelnisha Prince, Victoria and Brandon James, Keeland Bryant, Nancy Chatham and Natalie Winston. The loves of his life, his great grandchildren, Jhaelon Kindley, Yamira Silva, Emery Bryant, Markeise G., Markeise Winston, Jr, Raasha (deceased), Davyonique, Marcus Winston Jr., Niya, Layla-Rose, Braelon James, Bradley James and McKinley Wilson. As well as a host of nieces, nephews and loving Friends.
