There was a moment in time back in a little town called Crystal City, Texas where a handsome baby boy was born on February 8, 1942, and his parents the late Mr. & Mrs. Ennis Williams named him Robert Lee Williams.
It was at an early age that Bobby accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was lead to join and become a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Crystal City, Texas.
Bobby attended public school in the Crystal City School District. Now in later years, he and the family packed up and moved to San Antonio where he stayed for a while until relocating to Houston, Texas.
After being in the big city for some time, Bobby joined the Mt. Pleasant M.B.C. under the leadership of the late Rev. Grant, where he was a faithful and devoted member. Along his journey he met and married the love of his life, Earnestine Baker, Dec. 6, 1963 to whom he was faithful to until death did them apart (Aug. 8, 1996). It was in 1963 that he moved his membership to the Progressive M.B.C. to be with his wife and raise their children under the leadership of the late Emeritus Rev. B.J. Lewis and became active in the Male Chorus, Adult Choir, Sunday School, and was later ordained to become a Deacon. Now under the new leadership of Rev. Raymond Hillis, Bro. Williams would take on a more active role throughout the church. Being active with the Mission Dept., the Elegant Elders, and church bus driver, it really brought great joy to his life.
Bobby is preceded in death by his wife Earnestine Williams, his father, Ennis Williams, his mother, Annie Lou Williams, brother, James Buddy Williams (B.B.) and grandson Torrance Brooks (Toy).
On July 13, 2023 at 6:49 P.M. God whispered his name to come on home from his labor to reward.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children Christine Dean (Thomas), Cynthia Brooks, Robert Jr., Robin Watson (Emanuel) and Brenda Ward (Johnny); four grandchildren, Toby Brooks (Mona), Coddy Caesar, Rosslyn Williams, and Trevoughn Tusey, three great grandchildren, Tyree and Tory Brooks and J’amari Thomas all of Houston, Tx, two brothers Bruce Williams of Phoenix, Az.; John Williams, three sisters Annie Wilson, Helen (Richard) Axel and Neva Ray, all of San Antonio, Tx and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
