Robert Ray Ward

We are heartbroken to announce the death of Robert Ward. He passed away peacefully at the age of 74 in Galveston, TX. He was surrounded by family and friends. Rob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a dear friend to many and will be greatly missed. Rob was an avid fisherman and took great enjoyment in playing blackjack. He loved watching and supporting Houston sports teams, especially the Astros and the Texans. Rob had a big personality and loved to share stories with family and friends. Rob was a hard-working businessman and cared deeply for everyone he worked with. Rob was a very giving and kind person.

He leaves behind his wife Janet Ward, daughters Marsha and husband Jackie, Janet and husband Brendan, and Elaine. Grandchildren, Abby, Josh and wife Maribel, Hailey and husband Dylan, Brian, Dawson & Grayson. He also leaves behind many lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Myrtis Elaine Montgomery and Raymond Retzel Ward.

Rob was born on November 4, 1949, and grew up in Houston, TX. He attended college at the University of Houston and was a true Houston native.

A funeral service will occur Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM, with a visitation starting at 1:00 PM . A committal service will follow at 3:00 PM, Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
