Robert Madison Trapp, Sr. (Bob) 89, passed away peacefully at his earthly home in Humble, Texas and graduated to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday evening, April 6th, 2025. He was born in Orange, Texas on June 20, 1935 to Thomas Carroll and Nettie Louise Trapp.
Bob began working at an early age for a textile mill in Houston and then moved on to be a longshoreman with the ILA (International Longshoremen’s Association). He also served as the Financial Secretary of the ILA for 18 years. Then, still working for the ILA he became a crane operator, (unloading ships) for 8-9 years until he retired.
Bob married Nettie Lee Ashworth on November 13, 1953 and remained faithful to her until her death on October 26, 2008. Bob served as a well respected board member for Northwood/North Central Church for forty-two (42) years. He had a profound influence on many people. He coached Bobby and Mark during their little league years and he loved watching the Astros play baseball. He also pitched for the church softball team for many years.
On August 27, 2010, Bob married Sue Smith and they have had fourteen years and eight months of wonderful marriage together. They prayed together and asked for 4-5 years but were blessed with many more.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Nettie Trapp; wife, Nettie Ashworth Trapp; brothers, Calvin Trapp and Bert Trapp; sister, Thelma Herrick; and grandson, Terry Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Trapp; children, Robert Trapp, Jr. (Bobby) and wife Lori, Mark Trapp and wife Pam, and Sharon Brown and husband Cecil; 9 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. His love for his family and friends left a legacy to be long remembered.
