Robert Lee Rhodes, Jr., 63, passed away at Memorial Hermann – The Woodlands, TX on February 13, 2025. He was born on October 21, 1961, in Houston, TX, to Robert and Dorothy Rhodes. He was the oldest of four children.
Robert graduated from McArthur High School and later met the love of his life, Veronica Sealy. They married on November 21, 1987. He was currently employed with Liberty Mutual/Safeco for 19 years.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Veronica; daughters, Vonda Kay and Megan; son, Robert III (Lil Bobby) and his wife Tiffanie. He was blessed with ten grandchildren: Payten, Jacob, Trystan, Tyler, Kason, Landyn, Kaleb, Hallee Jo, Valerie, and Robert IV (Drew), who brought immense joy to his life. His parents, Robert, Sr. and Dorothy Rhodes; father-in-law, Vernon Sealy, Sr. and wife Sandra; brothers, Scott (Scotty) and Edwin (Todd); sister, Amanda (Mandy) Smith and husband Shannon; brothers-in-law, Gordon and his wife Jerri, and Vinson and his wife Lynette. Robert also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Bobby and Veronica enjoyed traveling with family and friends, creating cherished memories. Known for his willingness to help anyone in need, Bobby was often seen with his tractor or lawn mower, maintaining the property. Bobby was a devoted husband, grandfather, who enjoyed many camping and fishing trips, family gatherings where he loved to cook. He had a passion for BBQ cookoffs, holiday decorations and loved fishing trips with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roger and Verna Mae Rhodes, grandfather, Robert House, and his mother-in-law, Judy Sealy.
Bobby was a devoted grandfather, enjoying many camping and fishing trips, and family gatherings where he loved to cook.
A visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A funeral service will occur at Brookside’s grand oak chapel on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 10:30 am followed by graveside services. Services will be officiated by Tommy Loftin and Gary Eakin.
Serving as pallbearers are Jacob Rhodes, Trystan Ingram, Tyler Ingram, Landyn Lee, Kason Wyatt, Kaleb Lee, Denny Messer, Ricky Smith, and Jeff Kapsiak. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Rhodes, Daniel Rhodes, and Bradley Haggard.
Bobby’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family will be remembered by all who knew him.
