At an early age, Robert Louis accepted Christ and was baptized at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Tenaha, Texas. The family moved to Houston, Texas where he attended and graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School.
Robert Louis worked for over 25 years at Mosher Steel Company (currently Trinity Industries). He worked as a Machine Operator where he fabricated steel. The George R. Brown Convention Center was a building he was proud to say he helped build. Robert Louis worked until he became ill with an aneurysm. After a long recovery and retiring he had the opportunity to help raise each of his grandchildren.
Robert Louis enjoyed watching James Bond and old Western movies and cheering on his favorite football team the Houston Oilers.
He was united in holy matrimony to Girdie Lee Wormley on July 13, 1963. This union was blessed with four children Karen Wormley, Dina Pardue, Shannon Pardue and Korie Pardue.
Robert Louis was preceded in death by his parents Evelyn and Earl Pardue; his wife of 54 Years Girdie Lee Pardue; Brothers: William Pardue and Arnather (Nay) Pardue; Sisters: Earlean James and Madge Frazier; Son Shannon Pardue and Grandson Mark Hailey Jr.
He leaves behind to celebrate his life, daughters Karen Wormley, Dina Pardue, and Korie Pardue of Houston, Texas. Grandchildren Joymesha Jones; Dayne Pardue (Alethea); Charlotte Johnson; Ashley, Angel and Octavia Hailey. Great Grandchildren: Amani, Aniya, and Eamon Booth; Samareya Grover, Roderick and Riley Pardue, Sutton Jones, Liyana and Marie Hailey; Sisters Emma Hodge (Ophlee) and Carol Pardue; brothers Larry (Rodessa) Pardue, Ray (Betty) Pardue, Kenneth Pardue and Patrick Pardue; sister-in-law Emma Miller; and brother-in-law John (Dorthy) Wormley of Houston, Texas. Special friends of the family Samyra Ledbetter and Jamar Johnson and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Barry Pardue, Carlos Pardue, Carzavier Miller, Craig Tindall, Donald Pardue, Eric Pardue, Jermaine Miller, Orville K. Wormley, John Tellas Pardue, Dayne Pardue, Eamon Booth, Jamar Johnson and Roderick Pardue.
Out of abundance of caution due to the recent spikes with COVID-19 with the Delta and Omicron variants we will not be having a repast or family gathering.
A visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A burial will occur Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
