Robert Chet Panzer, of Houston, Texas, met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face on March 30, 2014. Born in New York City on December 4, 1943, to Herman and Lilyan Panzer, he moved to the Panama Canal Zone with his parents when he was nine months old.
There in the Panama Canal Zone area are the roots of his childhood days. After graduating from Balboa High School in 1963, he attended and graduated from the University of Houston in 1967, in Houston, Texas. After graduation he returned to the Panama Canal Zone where he was employed as an auditor for the Panama Canal Company/Canal Zone Government. After 30 years of service with the Canal Company, he retired from the Panama Canal Commission on December 31, 1998. After his retirement, he and his family moved to Houston, Texas. Bob was active in his church ministries and was a certified Biblical counselor.
He is survived by his wife Patricia of 23 years; his daughter Cathleen Panzer and his son Robert Panzer (both of Houston, Texas); step-daughter Jacqueline Salterio-Miranda, son-in-law Hector Miranda, granddaughters Maia Miranda and Tatiana Miranda (all of Puerto Rico); and step-son Ricardo Salterio, daughter-in-law Ana Cristina de Salterio and granddaughter Natalia Salterio (all of Panama, Republic of Panama); and brother-in-law John Grow (of Houston, Texas).
