He is survived by his wife, Linda of 54 years, sons Danny and wife Debbie Murphy, Jimmy Murphy, daughter Laurie and husband Shawn Shipley, six grandchildren, Tim, Nick, Matt, Becca, Kelly and Cole, and his dog Boo.
He proudly served in the Air Force as a B-29 Gunner, graduate of University of Houston Business School, practiced accounting as a CPA until retirement, enjoyed golf and was an accomplished pilot.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 am. Interment with military honors will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
