Robert Lyndon McNeely passed away on September 20, 2021, at his home in Houston, Texas. He was born on June 19, 1944, and is preceded in death by his parents, Weldon and Laurine McNeely. Lyndon leaves behind his beloved wife, Sandra Rhodes McNeely, son Keith Brian McNeely, grandson Chandler Brian McNeely, granddaughter Peyton Camille McNeely, brothers Jerry McNeely and wife Virginia, Steve McNeely and wife Joan, brother in law A. L. Buddy Rhodes and wife Jean, nephews Dean McNeely and Brian McNeely, niece Rachel McNeely Waltz and husband Corey, cousins, Mike McNeely and wife Debbie, Phil McNeely and wife Renee, and Sheryl McNeely Shaw
Lyndon was a graduate of Byrd High School in Shreveport, Louisiana, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Louisiana Tech University, with a major in finance. While there, he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Lyndon began his career in banking with Ouachita National Bank in Monroe, Louisiana. Upon moving to Houston, Lyndon continued his banking career with Allied Memorial Bank of Texas. Lyndon later changed careers to health care and was Executive Director at The Concierge in Houston, Texas, until his retirement.
During his lifetime, Lyndon was proud to be a native Texan. He loved taking care of Sandra and loved his lab, Daisy. Lyndon enjoyed all sports activities, loved country music, treasured those special times with the grandkids, and loved watching the sunsets at our bay house at Schicke Point, Texas.
Lyndon was a member of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, Houston, Texas. For many years he and Sandra were members of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas, and still have very dear friends there.
Lyndon and Sandra were married 55 years and were devoted to each other. Lyndon’s family meant everything to him, and he was so proud of them, especially his son Keith. He was affectionately known as Daddy Mac by his grandchildren and Mac by his close friends. His love for family was unconditional. Lyndon cared for all his friends and family and would do anything for them. He was a very kind, gentle, tenderhearted, and loving husband, father, and grandfather. With heavy hearts and great sadness, our family will forever remember our precious Lyndon. We are truly heartbroken and will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held October 14, 2021, at 10:00 AM, at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 12535 Perthshire Road, Houston, Texas, 77024, followed by a reception in the parish hall.
