ROBERT A. HUNTER, age 92, died Sunday, November 6, 2010 in Houston, Texas. He was born in Diboll, Texas, on July 23, 1918 to the late Clarence and Ethel Hunter. Bob was in the 10th Mt. Division of the Army (ski troops in Italy) during WWII and was recalled during the Korean War to serve in Sasebo, Japan as a Chief Warrant Officer. He finished his military duty as a 1st Lt.
Bob graduated from University of Houston in 1957. He was employed at Mortgage and Trust for almost 40 years, retiring as Executive Vice President.
Bob loved nature and could grow anything in his beautiful garden. He will always be remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Pauline.
He leaves: sons, Robert S. Hunter and his wife, Nancy of Brenham; Brad P. Hunter and wife Fran of Bryan; Gready W. Hunter and wife, Shelli of Houston; and daughter, Toni F.Hunter- Heagerty and her husband, Dave, of Austin. Brother, John P. Hunter, Tyler TX; Grandchildren: Brent Hunter, Jarret Hunter, Hunter Heagerty, Cayley Heagerty, Cheyenne Hunter, and Tristan Hunter; Great granddaughter, Emery Hunter and several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
His Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Mr. Hunter will be buried with military honors.
