Bob was born in Wellington, Kansas on October 27, 1933. His family moved to Fort Worth for part of his junior high school years. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where Bob graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1951. After high school Bob went to Oklahoma State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce.
While at Oklahoma State Bob was active in R.O.T.C. and after his college graduation he entered the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant and was promoted to the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Bob served his military service at Ft. Benning, Georgia.
Bob and his first wife, Dorotha had three children: Lee Ann, Lori and Charlie. Bob and Evelyn married on March 11, 1989 and recently celebrated twenty five years together. Evelyn’s two daughters, Linda and Cindy became part of his great blended family.
Bob loved his Lord, his family, his friends and country music. He was an avid sports fan—especially baseball and football but he just enjoyed anything involving sports. His morning routine until the last week of his life was to start his day with a cup of coffee and the sports page which he read from cover to cover.
One of Bob’s greatest pleasures in life was his church life at The Vineyard Church in Sugar Land and the home Bible study group he and Evelyn were part of. He loved nothing more than to be with his home group and almost nothing kept him from being at gatherings. He felt so loved and even though Bob has a big loving family, his home Bible study group was his extended family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie V. Guinn and Mary Whitesell Guinn, his sister Nancy, his sister Dianne Guinn Harrison, brother Charles Logan Guinn, grandson Caleb Scogin and granddaughter Hannah Scogin Henson.
Bob is survived by his wife Evelyn, daughters Lee Ann Guinn Sowders and husband Jerry, Lori Guinn Scogin and husband Robert, Son Charlie Guinn and wife Carolyn, and his daughters by marriage Linda Ferguson and husband Danny and Cindy Sosebee. Also surviving Bob are thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and two great grandchildren to be born this fall. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
