Robert "Bob" was born on December 11, 1929 in Santa Rosa, California to Russell B. Powell and Jean M. Davis. Bob married Marlene Davies in 1954 and in 1973 they and their two daughters moved to Houston, Texas. The family became active members of St. Cecilia Parish participating in the Family Guild.
Bob worked for ARCO for 30 plus years in the Human Resources department and retired in 1985. He loved to trout fish the White river in Northern Arkansas and was a skilled stained glass artist. He was an Air Force veteran, as well as a Naval Reservist.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 70 years Marlene and his beloved daughter Nancy. He is survived by is loving daughter, Susan Magee and her husband, David. Also survived by his honorary grandchildren Hayden and Hayley Meeks.
Visitation with the family began at 1:00 p.m on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, Texas, where funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. The Rite of Committal followed at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, also in Houston.
