Robbie Lynn Martin Henke

Robbie Lynn Henke passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2011. She was born in Westhoff, Texas on March 10, 1942 and graduated from Karnes City High School in May 1959. She is preceded by her husband, Hubert F. Henke of Fashing, Texas and her mother Grace Martin.

Robbie is survived by her daughter Rebecca Godinez and husband Felipe, sons James and wife Sondra, and Winston and wife Stephanie; her three grandchildren, Matthew Henke, Joshua Octobre and Angelica Godinez; and her loving sister Margret Sutton – all of Houston, Texas – along with many other friends and family.

One of Robbie’s greatest joys in life was playing the organ at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes, City, Texas where she regularly accompanied the choir and performed at special events. Robbie also enjoyed preserving fresh fruits and vegetables from the backyard garden and baking. Her grape jelly and pecan pie were not to be missed! She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, where the dressing (not the turkey) was the center of attention.

Robbie will be forever in our memory as a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or the charity of your choice.
