Rita Jean Lara, 77 of Houston Texas passed away January 22, 2024. Rita was born to Vicente and Janie Rodriguez in Bay City, Texas.

She married Charles Lara in 1965 and they were married for 57 years. Together they raised 2 children and 2 grandchildren.

Rita is survived by her children, Dolores Lara and Lisa Lara. Her son in law, Benny Colunga; sister, Mary Rodriguez, and the loves of her life her grandchildren: Charles Hernandez, Sean Hernandez, Rita Colunga, Emmalee Colunga and Benjamin Colunga.

She also leaves to cherish her memory to countless nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Lara, her sister, Josephine Orozco and her parents, Vicente and Janie Rodriguez.

Rita was so full of life and will leave a legacy and memory that will last forever. We will miss her humor, her contagious smile and the love she had for dancing.
