Rickey Cornell Brown was born August 28, 1954 to the union of Dorothy McTear and Henry McTear in Houston, Texas. He attended E.O. Smith Junior High and later Wheatley High School. Rickey worked for the City of Houston before he became self employed. Rickey was introduced to Jesus at a young age and became a member of God's House of True Love where the late Pastor Gladys Brock was the pastor. In the year 2000, Rickey became a member of Apostilic One Way Church and remained a member until his death. After becoming a member of Apostilic One Way Church, he was very active in church activities. He was a member of the Brotherhood and lead singer of the Men's Chorus. When someone was ill, Rickey would gladly give up his time to visit with them if he could. He loved to go out and witness to lost souls; for he often said "Jesus was the best thing that ever happened to him." He continued to work for Christ until his health failed him. Rickey had his ups and downs but he knew that Jesus would fix it after a while. Rickey was preceded in deathby his father, Henry McTear, Randolph McTear (brother), and Pamela Brown (sister). Rickey leaves to mourn his death a loving and devoted mother, Dorothy McTear (Houston, TX), two daughters, Cathy Simpson and Nakeisha Allen. Three grandchildren, Braylen, Ja'Riya and Jarena (Houston, TX), one sister, Bernice Brown, one brother Clarence Brown (Houston, TX) and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
