Rickey proudly served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and later graduated from Hobart Technical School. He then established Bridges Scale Company, later Bridges Scale Services, a successful venture he ran for many years.
Rickey married Deborah Bishop, and they shared many years together, filled with love and adventure. In the years while raising their three children together: Rickey Jr., James, and Michelle, their travels across the country created cherished memories, often accompanied by the tune of "On the Road Again.” A true "traveling man," Rickey's journeys spanned from Texas to Florida, Arkansas to Tennessee, and Nevada to California. Whether exploring with family or serving in the Air Force across various countries, including: Hawaii, Guam, Vietnam, Germany, France, London, and the Philippines, Rickey's adventurous spirit knew no bounds. In his later years, Rickey found joy in building his dream home and owning his beloved 1991 crimson red Corvette convertible. Retirement brought cherished moments at his lake house, where he delighted in entertaining loved ones with boating and grilling.
Rickey's legacy lives on through the memories he created and the love he shared. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the warmth of those he touched and the adventures he cherished.
In addition to his loving memory, Rickey Gene Bridges is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ernest and Katherine Bridges, and siblings: Shenandoah, Wanda, Houston, Loretta Ann, Cathy, Alton, and Ernest, Jr.
He is survived by his brother, Atoija and sister, Starlet, his devoted children: Rickey, Jr., James, and Michelle Bridges, and his adoring grandchildren: Kriegan, Kera, Nikolis, Cameron, Mya, Braelon, Ethan, Rickelle, Sasha, Bricyn Bridges, Anthony Levesque, and Emma Palmer.
