Richard Zermeno Tijerina, 83, of Nassau Bay, Texas , passed June 25, 2023. Richard was born to Valentin Tijerina and Isabel Zermeno, February 23, 1940, in Houston, Texas. Richard had six siblings, Yolanda Martinez, Robert Tijerina, Roger Tijerina, Rudy Tijerina, Raul Tijerina and Rachel James. He married Irene Espinoza in 1956, and they lived together in Houston, Texas. Together they raised 5 children.
Richard is survived by his children, Richard Tijerina Jr. and spouse Hilda Tijerina, Veronica Rodriguez and spouse Toney Rodriguez, Curtis Tijerina, Vienda Tijerina and spouse Robert Connelly and Jason Tijerina; grandchildren, Corey Tijerina, Ryan Tijerina, Kristina Clemente, Kristopher Pastrano, Aaron Pastrano, Gabriel Tijerina, Breanna Morua, Daniel Morua, Adam Ishmael, Christopher Oropeza, Ashlee Gressett, Annissa McCoy and Alexis Gwin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Valentin Tijerina and Isabel Zermeno; wife, Irene Tijerina; sister, Yolanda Martinez and brother, Robert Tijerina.
Richard worked as a printer pressman for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, family gatherings, barbecuing and spending time with his dogs.
Visitation will be held at Park Lawndale Funeral Home located 6900 Lawndale Street Houston, Texas 77023 from 5 PM to 9 PM on Thursday, June 29, 2023. A Funeral Service will occur at 12 PM Friday, June 30, 2023 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with rite of committal to immediately follow.
