Richard Ramirez was Born on July 10,1940, in San Antonio, Texas. He was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 28,2024. He was proceeded in death by his parents Frank & Isabel Ramirez, Brother Robert Ramirez, and his wife Elizabeth Ramirez.
He is Survived by Daughter Phyllis Ramirez, Son Richard S. Ramirez and his wife Teresa, and Daughter Rebecca Dial and her husband Phillip. Grandkids Rudy, Frank (Andrew) and wife Any, Makayla Ramirez and Holden Dial. Great Grandkids Marely, Brayden, Denver, and Sebastian Ramirez. Siblings Rosa Martinez, Mary Serrano, Adolph & Danny Ramirez.
Richard served in the United States Air Force from August 1960 to August 1966. Upon discharge from the Air Force, he moved his family to Missouri City, Texas, his current residence.
He was an avid Houston Oiler / Texans fan and loved the Texas Long Horns.
Besides his love for football, he loved his grandkids. He especially loved to spoil them at Christmas, Easter, and birthdays. He always enjoyed a big Sunday breakfast and taking the grandkids or anyone that would go. Everyone in the restaurant knew him by name. He loved his family and enjoyed family get togethers especially if music and dancing was involved. You could always find him listening to music, but his favorite artist was Elvis Presley.
Richard, who was perpetually early, always wanted to get things done ahead of time. The grandkids always got a kick out of going to his house in the summer, and his Christmas shopping would be done. His living room was filled with wrapped gifts until December.
He always welcomed anyone into his home. In his younger years all the kids in the neighborhood referred to him as “Dad”. He enjoyed having his evening beer and a shot of patron on occasion.
Later in life, he enjoyed being at the gym working out with men in their 20s and mentoring them on a proper diet and form when lifting. He would workout 4 days a week and was in outstanding shape.
Richard had a very strong work ethic and retired at the age 80 from his sales job.
He passed peacefully surrounded by his family and close friends.
A visitation for Richard will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park, 2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077. A committal service will occur Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077.
