Richard Vincent Phegley

RICHARD VINCENT PHEGLEY, 76, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010, in Houston. Richard was born on July 7, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri. He served in the United States Air Force from 1954 with honorable discharge in 1962 and was a retired Executive Account Manager and Project Manager with 39 years in the Oilfield business. He worked for such companies as: Hydril, Veepex Industries, Pride Petroleum Services/Pride International, and Superior Energy Services. He was a committee member of AADE (American Assn. of Drilling Engineers), Arrangements Chairman (past) for the A.P.I., Houston Chapter, Member of A.P.I., S.P.E., A.I.M.E., and an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, and photographer. He graduated from San Jacinto High School, Houston, attended the University of Maryland (attended while in USAF) and was a Marketing Major at the University of Houston.

His parents Lester and Bernice Phegley precede him in death. Richard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anna Marie Phegley; son, Michael Phegley and wife Cherry; daughter, Anamari Phegley; son, Russell Vincent Phegley; sisters, Betty Kelley and Kathy Ford; Nephews, James W. Kelley Jr.; Donald Kelley and wife Loretta; Ronald Kelley and wife Kim; Robbie Kelley and wife Gayla; Nieces; Terri Foley and husband Bruce; Tanesha Rossman McKinley; Amy Rossman Ladd and husband Crockett; Crystal Ford; Aunts, Mary Hugel, Helen Craig, Bettie Sheridan; and many grand nieces, nephews and beloved friends. Our hearts are broken and we will miss him so much! Please keep Richard in your prayers and in your fondest memories.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX, 77079, (281) 497-2210, followed by Graveside Service with Military Honors at the VA cemetery at 1:30 P.M. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Phegley, Russell Phegley, Donald Kelley, Ronald Kelley, Joe Elam, Glen Morris, and Juan Martinez.

Memorial donations are being requested to cover funeral expenses.
