Richard was born in Midfield, Texas on March 21,1927. He graduated from Blessing High School and enlisted in the Air Force in 1946 at the age of 19, where he served our country for 20 years, retiring in 1966.
He married the love of his life, Yvonne M. A. Nemec in 1950, whom he met in Germany while stationed in Europe. After retiring from the Air Force, Richard and Yvonne settled in Houston, Texas where he worked in the private sector for 24 years for WKM Valve, Cooper Industries and retired in 1990. Richard and Yvonne were married for 69 years and traveled the world after his retirement.
Richard and Yvonne moved to Katy, Texas in 2008 where he lived for 16 years. Yvonne passed away in 2020 and Richard missed her terribly.
He is survived by his three children; Kathleen West, Michael Nemec, and Gary Nemec, seven grandchildren; Megan Riley, Jessica West Fernon, Benjamin Nemec, Rebecca West, Emily Nemec, Mari Nemec, and Sophie Nemec, and five great grandchildren; Connor Riley, Lillian Riley, Emma Riley, Constance Nemec, and Johnathan Nemec.
