Richard "Cotton" Irwin was born on February 3, 1930 in Hot Springs, Arkansas and passed away on December 4, 2023 in Houston, Texas. He grew up and worked on the family dairy farm in Hot Springs. He wed the love of his life Joann McLeary in April of 1950. They moved to Houston, Texas in 1951 and had three children (David, Paul, Laura). He worked for over 40 years building homes in the Hidden Valley subdivision in North Houston. Cotton was known as a kind, patient, and honest man. His friends spanned generations, young and old. There was nothing Cotton couldn't do or fix. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will live forever in our hearts. He is predeceased by his 10 brothers and two sisters and his wife of 56 years Joann. He is survived by his three children David and wife Carol, Paul and his wife Elva, and Laura and her husband Cliff and numerous grandkids and great grandkids. There will be no formal service but a private family gathering.
