Richard Rhorer Hill, age 74, passed away due to heart failure on Wednesday, the 18th of January 2017. Richard was born in Fort Worth, Texas on the 22nd of August 1942, to James Edwin Hill and Helen Rhorer Hill. He was the third of four children. The family moved to Houston in December, 1958.
Richard is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Stuart Hill. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Susan Laramore Hill, his sister, Sissy Kempner and husband Denny, his brother, Jim Hill and wife Kelle, his sister-in-law, Mary Hill, and three nieces.
Richard attended Lamar High School in Houston and after graduation, he attended Harvard University. While at Harvard he enrolled in the United States Marine Corps PLC program. Upon graduation, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant. Richard served in in Vietnam and achieved the rank of Captain.
After leaving the Marines, Richard entered Harvard Law School and earned a JD degree.
He worked for a time at Baker Botts law firm in Houston and Paris, France. He left to enter a private practice in Fort Worth.
Richard loved to read a wide variety of topics from religion to philosophy to science fiction. He was a big fan of Bob Dylan. He had a quirky sense of humor. He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes as if he were playing a joke on the world. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
