Richard Sidney Banks III

Richard (Rick) Sidney Banks, III, was born on December 11, 1965 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. He loved life and displayed it by his infectious humor and love of family and friends.

In 1980, the family left the DC area for Miami, FL, where Rick excelled in football, wrestling and track and field in high school and cultivated his lifelong love of music. Rick received his BA in Communications from Tarkio College in 1986. After college, he moved to Houston, TX to be with his family who had relocated.

Rick was extremely talented in the Information Technology field and held many Microsoft advanced certifications. He specialized in network support for various companies including Hewlett-Packard, Chevron, ExxonMobil and JP Morgan Chase. Just recently he moved to San Antonio where he served as a data center infrastructure engineer at InfoSys Ltd. Rick started his own company, Techbytes, LTD in 2005, which specialized in assisting their clients to utilize the power of computer technology in their workplaces.

Most important in Rick’s life were his faith and his family. Rick was a very loving and supportive father to his children. He found much comfort in worshiping with church family at Fallbrook Church.

Rick is survived by his wife, Kathy Jones-Banks; children, Richard IV, Kyle and Mikayla Banks; his parents, Richard, Jr. and Renee (Davis) Banks of Houston TX. He also leaves his sister, Stephanie Banks of Washington, DC and brother, Timothy Banks of Houston, TX. Rick also leaves his beloved grandmother, Ruby Davis; aunts, Damali (Banks) Cruz and Lisa Davis Johnson, uncle, Robert Davis, as well as numerous cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry Leroy Davis, Sr., Richard Sidney Banks, Sr. and Mary Banks Bluford.
