Rene Anthony Molina

Rene Anthony Molina, 58, of Houston, Texas, passed June 22, 2023. Rene was born to Frutoso Molina and Rosaura Rios Molina, August 14,1964, in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Furr High School in 1982.

He married Sharon Cueto, and they lived together in Bastrop, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, his son, Brian Ruiz, and his daughter, Anna Melendez. He also leaves behind his sisters, Linda Velasquez and Gracie Chumley as well as his nephews Marcos Velasquez, Christopher Chumley, Johnny Molina Jr. and Michelle Ashton.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosaura Molina, his brother, Johnny Molina and his niece Christina Velasquez Capece.

Rene worked as a driver for Forward Air for 8 years and 12 years with his own company R and S Trucking. He loved his Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed barbecuing both for fun and for charity. Rene was PITMASTER of both the Smokin Cowboys Cooking Team and the #233 of the Lone Star Borrachos. These two teams often barbecued in support of charitable events.

The family would also like to thank all the family and friends who have provided assistance and support, especially Michael Vallejo and the Smokin Cowboys president, Ramiro Ramirez who provided critical support during this difficult time.

A visitation for Rene will be held Saturday August 12th starting at 11am and a Service is scheduled for August 12th, 2023 at 2pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, Chapel of Angels.
