Reginald Glover was born in Houston, TX, on March 21, 1978, to Reginald Glover Sr. and Sharon Glover. Reginald was the second born of the Glover’s four children. As a baby, his mother Sharon said his smile reminded her of “Bugs Bunny” and she lovingly nicknamed him “Bugs” due to his quiet and reserved demeanor.
Reginald demonstrated a commitment to Christ early in his life and accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 4. He was baptized under the leadership of the late Reverend O.C. Johnson of Lyons Unity Missionary Baptist Church. He would continue strengthening his walk with Christ and would later join along with his family, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, under the pastoral leadership of Marcus D. Cosby Sr.
Reginald attended J.C. McDade Elementary, Francis Scott Key Middle School and Barbara Jordan High School for Careers. Reginald took immense pride in his job responsibilities and work commitments. In high school, he began working for the City of Houston Water Department. During his 25 years of service to the City of Houston, he worked as a student intern, Plant Operator, and Plant Operator Supervisor.
In high school, Reginald would meet the love of his life and soon to be wife, LaTonya Shenell Robinson. The two would become united in marriage on June 8, 2002. Reginald is survived by his spouse of 17 years, LaTonya, his two beautiful children Layla and Ryan Glover, three siblings, Porschia Gibbs (Jamison), Christen Nieves (Rodney), and Christopher Glover. He also leaves behind uncles, Lawrence Glover (Sharon), Weldon Johnson (Pam) and aunt Sheila Gloston. Reginald will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and a host of family and friends. His family will forever remember him as a kind and loving husband and father.
On the morning of April 28, 2020 the Lord called Reginald home. He left a legacy that will live on forever through his wife, children, and everyone who knew and loved him. They will forever cherish the beautiful memories they were able to experience with him.
Reginald was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnny and Ola Pearl Glover and Isaiah and Elnora Johnson, great-grandfather, Barnett Ross and great-grandmothers, Bobbie Lee Hollins and Julia Blanks, and one uncle, Samuel Beavers Jr.
