Rebecca Turner was born January 5, 1931 in Jonesville, Texas to the late Booker T. Washington and Menda Beck. Becky, as she was fondly called, moved to Houston where she met and married the love of her life, Willis Turner Ill. Becky worked as a cosmologist for several years and retired to raise Jeffrey and Robin. She also raised her grandson Brandon and her adopted sister, Linda Johnson.
Becky was an active member of South Union Church of Christ in Houston, Texas until her health began to fail.
Becky’s unyielding faith and harmonious connection with family were a priority for her. She believed that family reunions were very important for families to have and were instrumental in putting them together.
Becky received her Wings on March 18, 2023. She leaves to cherish her life and legacy, two sisters, Alberta Jones of Houston , Texas and Dorothy Young of California; son Jeffrey; daughter Robin; grandson, Brandon; special nephew Jerald ll “Squirt”; special niece, Juanita Campbell; adopted sister, Linda Johnson; and many other special nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
