Rebecca Mariel Guilfoyle, a beloved daughter, sister, partner, and friend, was taken from this world way too soon. Rebecca passed away during Labor Day weekend, 2022, at age 28, of complications from asthma.
Rebecca graduated with honors from Cypress Ridge High School and attended McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas. She enjoyed her job and had recently earned a promotion to her company’s management.
Rebecca was a world traveler with a passion for learning and exploration. She studied for a year in Germany, where she became fluent in the German language and formed friendships that lasted throughout her lifetime. She participated in a summer program in Russia through the U.S. Department of State. She traveled to other parts of Europe as well.
Rebecca most enjoyed spending time with her family, close friends, and pets. She adored animals, especially her cat (Little Man), her mother’s cat (Flop), and her family’s dogs (Missy, Showshoe, and Scully). Rebecca enjoyed Mexican food, always looking forward to a convivial meal of chips, salsa, and tacos. An avid reader of mysteries, Rebecca was one of Agatha Christie’s most devoted fans. Rebecca had an unparalleled sense of humor and brought smiles to the faces of those she loved. To this day she still makes us laugh.
Rebecca is survived by her parents, Matthew and Dona, sisters Nicole and Clara, and the love of her life, Conor. She also leaves grandparents and aunts, uncles, and cousins. We will love her forever and miss her greatly.
Since Rebecca cherished her adopted pets, donations to the Houston SPCA would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
