Rebecca "Becky" Jeanne Wehmeyer, 79, passed away at her home on September 24, 2020 in Houston, Texas. Becky was born on February 14, 1941 in Searcy, Arkansas to Floyd E. Bailey and Virginia A. Bailey.
When young, the Valentine baby's father worked the saw mills and so Becky lived in numerous states; Colorado on a dude ranch; Ward, Arkansas, various sawmill camps and Las Vegas, New Mexico just to name a few before settling down in Houston, Texas. Becky attended Houston area schools before graduating from Lutheran High School. One day while driving around a young man whistled at her, to gain her attention. That young man was Lenert Earl "Shorty" who eventually asked Becky to be his bride. They were married June 18, 1960. They would go on to have two children, Mitch and Kelly. Becky was a devoted wife and mother. After her children were older, she entered the work field for two years and then settled down to being a housewife. Becky enjoyed reading, crosswords, Elvis, QVC, and old westerns, anything John Wayne, Audie Murphy, The Virginian and Hopalong. She also loved her biannual trips to Coushatta with her daughter, and visits from her son and grandchildren. Becky's favorite celebration was Christmas and all that it entailed. There was not a room undecorated for this special time. While she loved family gatherings and her family, she loved most, the love of her life, Shorty. She also loved with all her heart her children and grandchildren. The grandchildren were fondly known as Angel Boy and Angel Girl.
