Raymond T. Parker

Raymond T. Parker, 92, entered into rest December 19, 2016. He was born April 29, 1924 to parents John S. and Annie Parker in White County, Illinois. Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII for which he had many stories. He loved to tell about his time in the military and the interesting people that he met. He had a passion for attending church, playing cards with his wife Juanita Parker, and spending time outdoors. Phase 10 was one of his favorite card games and would play anytime family and friends were together. Raymond was a kind and loving person who was always smiling when he walked into a room. He never met a stranger and would always lend a helping hand.

Raymond is preceded in death by his wife Juanita Parker of 52 years, son Reverend Samuel Koontz, and grandchild Kristina Ann Hill. He is survived by his daughters; Phillis Hill and Pamela McDowell and husband Dennis, sons; Lonnie Koontz and wife Deborah, Daniel Koontz, and Steven Parker, grandchildren; Tammy Smith and husband Shayne, Bradford Hill, Rebekah Taylor and husband Tony, Melissa Francis and husband Kevin Connie Ward and husband Hugh, Heather Koontz, Daniel Koontz Jr., Andrew Koontz and wife Shearine, Ashley Cunningham and husband Jordan, Renon Hendricks and wife Misty, Nathaniel Hendricks, and Gabriela Hendricks, twenty-seven great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 9:30am to 11:30am at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. A Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 11:30am to 12:30pm with a committal service to follow to the Houston National Cemetery.
