Ray Edwin Iselt entered into eternal rest on April 13, 2022. He was born on June 30, 1951. Ray was baptized into the Christian faith on July 8,1951 by Pastor E. Keiper and confirmed on April 11,1965 by Pastor Lawrenz at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Ray attended St. Mark Lutheran Parochial school through 8th grade, then graduated from S.P. Waltrip High School in 1969. He was employed first at Jack Browing Automotive & K&S Automotive as an auto mechanic and continued on to the construction field being self-employed for many years. He continued his automotive career with Joe's Auto Service in Centerville, Texas. He also enjoyed carpentry work for many family members and friends in his spare time.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Adele Iselt, and brother Hilbert Iselt, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ray is survived by his sister, Pauline McKinley (Frank; his nephew, Bryan McKinley (Kim); niece's Linda Sims (Mark), Sheila Stall (Kenneth); great niece's and nephew's, Amber Stall, Meghan Sims, Kayla Copland (Chris), SSGT Mark Sims, Shelby Carroll (Justin), Karrah McKee (Caleb), Blake McKinley; along with nine great-great nieces and nephews, as well as a large group of extended family members.
A very special mention to the PARTY TIME AGAIN BBQ cooking team, which Ray invested in and enjoyed for many years - team members: Charles Teese, Vernon Mair, George Torango & David Felder.
We will miss Ray more than words can convey.
A visitation for Ray will be held Friday, April 22, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. The funeral service will occur Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A committal service will occur Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
Pallbearers: Blake McKinley, Adam Iselt, Tobin Iselt, Meghan Sims, Justin Carroll, Charles Teese, Vernon Mair & George Torango.
Horary Pallbearers: SSGT Mark D. Sims & Calvin Iselt.
In lieu of flowers, Ray has requested donations to be sent to CHI St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan, TX and/or St. Timothy Lutheran Church Houston, TX for their organ fund.
