Ralph Briggs Harp, Jr. was born April 4, 1945, and went home to be with the Lord on November 10, 2021. He was born in Dallas and grew up in Houston, the youngest son of Ralph Sr. and Dorothy Harp. He graduated from Lamar High School and Sam Houston State University where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and served at it's President. Ralph also served in the US Coast Guard Reserves from 1968 to 1973 with honorable discharge. Ralph was highly respected in the aviation insurance profession, first as an underwriter with Southern Marine & Aviation, and later as a broker with Adams & Porter which he joined in 1985. He was unique in that he worked both sides of the insurance aisle and was a champion of training those coming behind him.
Ralph married his beloved wife, Karen, on November 27, 1971, and they had a very loving marriage for 50 years. He enjoyed golf (he loved Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with his regular golf group), guns, whitewater rafting, wine, special automobiles, Lakeway, Texas, and Balboa Island, California.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph, Sr., and Dorothy Harp, and his brother Alan Harp, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; brother, Bob and wife Kelly; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members.

In conclusion, we are very grateful for the blessing of both his private caregivers, Paul, Ruth, and Gwen, thru the declining years, along with many wonderful caregivers at Houston Methodist Hospital, multiple SNF facilities, and home healthcare providers.
